Ten Commandments of Injo
  • You are the most responsible person for the protection of your health and life. You are in the best position to recognize, question and object any unhealthy practice on you.
  • Do not permit the reuse of plastic syringes on you, believing the claim that they are sterilized. The disposable syringes are not designed for autoclaving and sterilization may not be complete.
  • Whenever possible opt for the services of persons or institutions where the staff not only rip open the fresh disposable syringe in front of you but also make v it useless after use just in front of your own eyes. If this is the regular practice there will not be any used syringes around to be used on you.
  • Discourage the careless disposal of syringes after use as it is a potential threat to the society. A population in which multiple dangerous and unhealthy practices are prevalent, there is a chance for everybody to get affected by one of them one day or the other.
  • Giving injection to many people from the same syringe by changing only the needle is a dangerous practice. Every injection is associated with a negative suction to check the presence of a blood vessel. This essential safety practice can cause disease carrying blood to enter the syringe to get injected to another person.
  • After injection the blood soiled sharps should be disposed in a separate thick walled container to be disposed safely.
  • Never attempt to recap the needle or dispose it in any place where it can cause injury to yourself or others.
  • After injection, syringes and needles are to be given to authorized health agencies that collect and dispose medical waste as per guidelines from health authorities. Never discard them carelessly or allow them to fall into the hands of syringe reusing and repacking rackets.
  • Whenever possible use needle less injection devices.
  • There are various models of syringes available in the market that gets destroyed after use- voluntarily or involuntarily. Whenever possible use such syringes and ensure they are disabled after use.

  • A DISPOSABLE SYRINGE IS FOR SINGLE USE AND SINGLE USE ONLY.
